Many times when people hear about home facelifts, the first thing they think of is elaborate renovations, sometimes including tearing down walls or making major buys that might dig a hole in their pockets. However, this is not really the case. There are minor changes you can make that can transform your home from drab to extraordinary. Beyond changing the look of your home, these minor changes can help brighten your mood and make you feel more enthusiastic about life especially in the midst of a global pandemic.Below are some of the simple ways you can give your home a facelift.

Do a minor exterior change

If you live in a home that allows for exterior changes, one of the best places to start your facelift adventure from is the outside of your house. First, you can give the exterior of your house a new coat of paint. Change up the color a bit and see how much difference it makes. If you have an outdoor lounge or sitting space, you can get new sets of chairs; nothing too fanciful, just ensure that the chairs are durable and can withstand weather changes. You should go for chairs that can offer you quality metal all-weather seating

Rearrange rooms

Sometimes, all your home needs to look better is rearrangement of the rooms in the house. You can start from your sitting room. Move the chairs around a bit till you get a nice fit that gives your room a better look. Change throw pillowcases and little statement pieces. Change your tapestries and drapes; many times the difference between a drab looking room and a room that seems alive with color and warmth is the choice of drapes used. Ensure that you are getting more light by removing any obstacles blocking natural light from coming into the room. You may have to get more additional lighting for the room. Lighting plays a major role in mood regulation and make a space feel more comfortable and homely.

Get house plants

You can never go wrong with house plants. House plants are the ultimate hack to adding more personality to your home and giving it a different, better look and feel. Get house plants for your sitting room and your bedroom. Pick plants that are easy to maintain and thrive well inside the house. Such plants include cacti, pothos plants, aloes and ferns. Beyond adding beauty to your home, they are great for purifying the air. So, getting house plants is quite beneficial to you.

Add art pieces

Art pieces can take a room from plain looking to cynosure of all eyes without putting in much effort. Most times, all you have to do is find art pieces that resonate with you or art pieces you think would look great hanging in your home. After you have found these pieces, pick prime positions that not only make them visible but help them better complement and improve the look of your home.

Giving your home a facelift does not have to be a stressful, cost intensive experience. Many times it is the little things that make the difference.
